NotebookLM

NotebookLM standard access lets Google-account users create up to 100 notebooks with 50 sources in each. A source can contain up to 500,000 words, and a locally uploaded file can be up to 200 MB. Standard daily limits include 50 chat queries and three Audio Overview generations. NotebookLM can ground answers in uploaded PDFs, websites, YouTube videos, audio, Google Docs or Slides and provide inline citations.

Limits are subject to change, and paid Google AI or qualifying Workspace plans provide higher access. Browser availability depends on supported country and verified account age; some features are restricted for users under 18. Mobile availability differs by country and the app omits some desktop features and source types. Responses are constrained to selected source material and can still be inaccurate. Deleted notes cannot currently be recovered, copy-protected PDFs cannot be imported, and users must have rights to uploaded material.

Students, researchers and professionals who need to interrogate a defined collection of sources and want citations, summaries, study guides or audio overviews grounded in that material.
