LibreOffice is free and open-source software under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 and other included open-source licences. It can be installed on any number of computers and used at home, at school or in a business without licence fees. The desktop suite includes Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Base and Math.

LibreOffice is primarily a desktop suite, not a hosted real-time collaboration service. Complex Microsoft Office files, macros, fonts or layout-specific documents may not reproduce perfectly, so important files should be checked before exchange. Some functions, particularly parts of Base, require Java. Large organisational deployments may need paid support from ecosystem providers even though the software licence remains free.

Individuals, schools, nonprofits and businesses that want a capable offline office suite without subscriptions or account requirements.
